End of Summer 2011

Well, the time has come. My final summer as a student has come and gone. I have just a few weeks left. I pland to use that time wisely, divying it up between beach trips, Kristin, and my parents.

Kristins 21st party is fast approaching, on the 16th. I plan on purchasing a nice 24 pack of mikes, because this will be the last of my drinming as well.

A lot has happened since i last wrote. Kristin gave me my birthday present early: a crab. Yes, a hermit crab. He is small with a purple claw and in a green shell (for now). So, with a new crabitat, I bought him a friend, a bigger friend. The crab Kristin bought me is named Jacques, and the crab I bought is named Sebastian. They are awesome.

More new things: come this school year I will be on a new (and final) diet. Its called Nutrisystem. It costs $233.28 a month, in addition to all the fresh produce and dairy I have to provide myself. But, I need this. I can't diet without prepreportioned meals, at least not yet. When I get used to the poftion sizes and have a smaller stomach, I moght switch over to weight watchers. But for now its Nutrisystem. Its supposed to help you loose 10lbs a month, but because of my weight I will probably loose more. I'm so excited. And since this is my last year of school, ill be looking for a job. Not many people execpt people who look like I do now. Yes, its wrong, but that's how it works and I have to work with the system.

Also, this summer Dad and I did research and have invested in smart phones. We all have Virgin Mobile, which is $40 per line for unlimited dara, unlimited text, and 1200 minutes each month, which is more than enough. We each have the LG Optimus V. It works awesome.

I have to say I've had an amazing last (really, responsible-free) summer.

So, I look forward to updating you all on my wieght loss journey.

Love,
Kelli

New Glasses and a New Summer

Wow! This is the first summer since high school that I haven't taken any classes. Just sitting at home... well not exactly. I try to do something good as in exercise every day. Sam (my dog) and I have been to the beach a few times already. We went with Kristin last Thursday. That's when my glasses got scratched, so I went to Wal-mart and bought new glasses! They have transition lenses, and they're awesome!!!

Hopefully this summer I will get more hours. Right now I'm working about 20 hours at Pizza Hut, and I need to pay rent for my apartment in O-town. It's stupid to pay rent for a place when you're not there, but I couldn't get anyone to sublease. :(

I'll be going back to O-town soon, in about 2 weeks. I have to work at the Pizza Hut there to stay on the pay roll, and then work the table at the Ice Cream Social at UCF for Pi Delta Phi. I still have to make the trifold and the brochures. But I have some stuff ready to put on there.

Also, I'd like to make a shout-out to my father. He has fixed this laptop that I'm on right now. It was my high school graduation gift and broke about 6 months ago, so I bought a new laptop. but he has fixed this one. Now, let me take a poll. My dad thinks that now that he fixed it, this laptop is now his. I say. it was my graduation gift, and I left it here for him to fix it. But, I needed a computer, so I bought my own laptop. To whom does the newly fixed laptop belong to?

Also, my best friend has gotten herself into some trouble, so I might not be seeing her so often. She might have a way out of it, but I'm really going to miss hanging out for a while.

So now, with my NEW GLASSES I'm watching the deadliest catch on netflix, and washing my uniform for later (I was called into work tonight from 4:30 - 9).

Let me know what you think of our disagreement, and have a good day, all! Au revoir!

Stress Stress Stressing

Craigslist is a wonderful and awful thing. I love that I'm able to put an ad out for my appartment, but I hate that there are so many scammers. Please, readers, if you see an ad that says student appartment, don't reply to it, if youre not a student. I mean really, some people just cant read!

Now that my venting is done, I feel better. I had a little scare today. I printed out my degree audit and under the summer requiremnt (FL requires that you take at least 9 credit hours over the summer) it said i have not taken any classes. Which, just so you know, I've taken 24 credits. So, turns out you have to take them at a university, not a community college. Well, that means I'm screwed. I dont have any credits left, so this will mess me up. But, today I signed a paper to have them wave the requirement, since I have been taking summer classes. The lady seemed pretty chill, so I wont worry too much about it. I'll just wait for the verification email.

And I have a huge video project due. Its due on the 14th, so i have about 8 days to film and edit everything. Its going to be like the 10th Kingdom, but based on Perrault's fairy tales. It will be on Youtube soon, and I will post a link when everything is done. ITs due the 14th, because I want to show it Pi Delta Phi (National French Honor Society), at the French Gala. The video isnt actually due in class until the 26th. So, since im doing this so quickly, it means i'll get a break later.

Also, tomorrow is voting at PDP (Pi Delta Phi). I have nominated myself for Vice President. If I dont make that position, I will be Public Relations. So, voting is tomorrow and then results given at the French Gala.

Then, this Friday, I have to finish "Pluie et Vent sur Telumee Miracle" and write a 3 page paper on it in French. I will be filming all day Friday, and work friday 5 - 10, so I will have to have my paper done tomorrow.

So yes, you could say I'm stressed. And I need prayer. I need prayer that someone will accept my ad on Craigslist, I can't afford to keep the appartment on for the summer. I need prayer and a few red bulls tomorrow.

I'll let you know if I make VP or PR.

No Facebook

This is day 5 of lent. I have given up Facebook, and my unhealthy addiction. So, far, it has been increibly difficult. I have no clue what I did before I had an acount. I have 42 more days. I can get through this.

Spring break is over. My break was absolutely amazing. I went to Kristin's house on Sunday night and stayed over. In the morning, we stayed out by her pool with the birds. This reminded me that at one point in my life, I want birds. And I want them bad! Maybe just one parakeet. Tuesday we went to the beach with the dogs and Wednesday we watched Blair Witch and Paranormal Activity, cause Kristin had never seen them. Then, today (Sunday), I met up with Kristin and her family and we went to the Blue Springs State Park to see the manatees. It was amazing!

Now, I have so much homework to do, but that break was needed. In fairytale class were starting the Sleeping Beauty cycle. Did you know in the origional tale "Sun, Moon, and Talia" by Bastile, that Talia (aka sleeping beauty) was raped in her sleep? How aweful was that? She had twins and while attepting to breastfeed one of the babies sucked the flax out of her finger? Flax was what was being spun which stuck her when she fell into her sleep. Anyway, her baby sucked it out and she woke up with no clue about anything! How were the babies taken care of before her awakening, you ask. Simple answer: fairies. Hahaha that's the great thing about fairy tales. Every wierd occurance can be explained away by magic.

Well, in attempt to keep up a normal and healthy sleep schedule, I am off to bed. Have a good night, world.

Bon Soir.

Wedding

Wow! can you say busy year?

Classes are absolutely crazy. Ive been doing homework non-stop! except for this past weekend. It was Alli's wedding and wow, was it hectic. People are running all over the place, Alli was mad the whole time. Whew-we! But I think she really enjoyed her wedding and that's what really matters.

I would stay and write, but I'm swamped with things to do today, so I just want y'all to know I'm alive!

The Beginning of the End (and Thanksgiving)

Today is Tuesday, a start of the next two weeks: finals weeks.

Today I performed with Patricia as Gaston from "Le Voyageur sans le Bagage", and with Juliana and Lindsay as Sganerelle in "Le Medecin Malgre Lui". Both went really well, I had the whole class laughing (which is the important thing), and was ready to turn in a Final Paper on Candide. But, I gained an extra week on that. So, on Monday, I have my final performance of Sganerelle and then a 4 page thesis on Racine, and a 2 page review of L'Avare. The Magazine for composition is also due Monday (rough draft due tonight) and then the Accounting (which I've all but given up on) test on next Wednesday. I'm ready for a break!

Speaking of breaks, Thanksgiving was amazing! I was able to take my dog, Sam to the beach. He loves the beach, runs around, swims. He was freezing from the water though. Funny how it was a warm day and cold water. That's Florida, for yah! I also went to watch the COJ light up the tree at the Landing. Incredibly crowded, but at least I've seen it once (and only once).

The meal was nice, Mom was given a pre-smoked Turkey. You just thaw it out until it's room temperature, and then it's ready to use. I know! It sounds ridiculous, but it was pretty good (expensive, too - $35).

So, I'm off to bed, but I just want the world to know (or whoever reads this) what I am thankful for. I am incredible thankful for my family and friends who love and support me, to my God who always leads me down the right path, and this amazing opportunity to study French at the best school in Florida. Go Knights!
